"Plugin file does not exist." when Activating under WordPress 3.2

I've just installed the latest version of Futurific into the latest (as of 12 July 2011) version of WordPress. And get:-

Plugin file does not exist.

when trying to Activate it.

Looking at the plugin directory contents with FTP, it appears that all the filenames have backslashes in them. Eg:-

featurific-for-wordpress\cached_image.php
featurific-for-wordpress\data_xml.php
...

Presumbly the download file has been seriously stuffed up.

Note that this is a VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM. Since AFAIK, it's impossible to rename or delete the plugin files once they've been uploaded to the server (with a conventional FTP client at least).

Did you resolve this problem? I've never seen this issue before; perhaps it has something to do with the client used to extract the files.
